Bible verses are powerful weapons in a Christian’s arsenal to use against the evil one. To build this arsenal, one has to memorize Bible verses in a consistent and systematic manner. Most people find this too difficult to practice and give up within a short period of time. As people get old, the ability to remember and recall things also seems to diminish. Just when people get old enough to realize the importance of memorizing scripture verses, they find themselves too old for the task at hand.
But there is a much simpler way to memorize even large portions of Scripture passages with ease. Have you noticed that when you keep listening to a new song a couple of times, you seem to easily remember the lyrics even tough you never made a conscious effort to do so. You hear a song a few times, and then you seem to know not the tune alone but the lyrics as well.
Listening is a powerful tool that can be used effectively for memorizing. So, to memorize verses from the Bible, you need to just listen to the Bible being read. You can either read the Bible and record your own voice, or you can get a Bible in Audio format, known as the Audio Bible. A narrator reads the entire content of the Bible and this is recorded in a variety of formats including cassette tapes, CD ROMs, DVDs and MP3 files. These formats can be played on their respective players like the cassette, CD, DVD and MP3 players. Most of these formats can also be played on the computer.
This makes it extremely convenient to cover large portions of the Bible within a relatively short period of time. In fact, by listening to your Audio Bible for just 30 minutes a day, you can cover the entire New Testament in 45 days. And you can do that while going through your normal everyday activities! Just think about that! The entire New Testament in 45 days, and you don't have to read a word, rather just listen to it being read, while going about your daily routine.
This is not a substitute for reading God's Word. But it is definitely an invaluable aid that will enhance your relationship with the Word of God. Moreover it is an excellent tool for helping you memorize large portions of Scripture. While nothing can replace the Bible in print format, the audio version is just an additional aid in memorizing the text contained in the print format.
Audio Bibles are also a great way to share God's Wisdom with small children who cannot read the Bible yet. Just by listening to the Audio Bible, small children can learn to recite Psalms and other favorite portions of Scripture. They will especially love the dramatized version of the Audio Bible. Their favorite stories will come to life and enhance their interest in reading the Bible for themselves.
We are truly a blessed generation gifted With so many technological aids to help us in our study of the Word of God.
