How are you?
This question is posed to you numerous times each day. Whether you realize it on not your answer to this question relates directly to your personal success. I am always intrigued by the range of answers that I receive. Good, wonderful, fine, okay, and don’t ask are just a few of the most common responses I get. (I am not including the truly negative ones.) Do you ever take an actual inventory before you answer this question? How DO you answer this question? And How does it relate to your personal success?, it is just a question, right…?… WRONG!
First, when responding to the question to you think to yourself: ‘Well, this happened earlier today and it was good, then something bad happened, then I worked for a while which was ok, but I have a lot to do once I get home and I don’t have the money to do what I wanted to do later this week.’ I seriously doubt it. Most of us have a few pre-identified answers to this question. I mean think of the number of times each day you are asked, How are you? To examine the success of your day or overall personal success would put you very far behind is these usually very short conversations.
So, how do you answer this question? Think about it… When someone asks How are you? How do you answer? I can hear you now, why does it matter how I answer this question. It is just a social formality no one actually expects to receive my true interpretation of my personal success , heck they probably don’t even listen to the answer.
Yes, but YOU hear the answer!
This is why it relates to your success in life.
“Act as ye have faith and faith shall be given to thee , another way fake it till you make it” This quote from a popular TV show explains the importance and connection to your personal success of answering this question with a strong positive affirmation. This small but conscious effort will dramatically change your overall outlook and demeanor to being more positive which is the first step in achieving true personal success in your life.
So now… How are you?
EXCELLENT!
Committed to your personal success.
