See what Jeff Seeney thinks
Does Mr Seeney think the State water grid will be ready in time. Stage 1 of the pipeline is due for completion by the end of 2008. Being that stage 1 is only to carry 20 megalitres a day, how much of a solution do you think it will be.
Do Power Stations use much water ?
This power station is going to reduce its consumption by 22,000 megalitres over 15 months, that's 80 megalitres per day, reduction ?

Water Usage
According to figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics for the year 2000-2001 Australian households and businesses consumed the equivalent of almost 50 times the volume of Sydney Harbour (24,909 gigalitres GL) of water in 2000-01.
Water Wastage
Australia is currently the second highest user of domestic water in the world. "Urban areas take a similar volume of water per hectare from supply catchments as irrigation, but discharge a much greater volume as storm water and sewage."
Summary
According to the bulk of information available, approximately 10% of the water in Australia is used for households, with 44% of that 10% used outside for pools and gardens, washing the car and the like. Of the balance as much as 35% of the 10% can be consumed by bath and showers, washing machines, toilets, leaks and the like, leaving 21% of 10% of Australia's water (that's 2.1%) for human consumption, and that's being generous.
Where do we go to from here, what do you think?
At WRA we believe in water recycling, we've spent a lot of time and money developing a world class water recycling process to do just that.
We can provide water for desalination processes, we can provide water for irrigation of many edible crops and most non edible crops, we can provide water for direct and indirect recycling projects (also membrane processes), in fact our PASS process is perfect for that, its low capital cost and low operational costs we believe make it one of the best pre-treatment processes around.
As such our process dramatically reduces the overall cost of producing high quality, non potable water.
Should we be recycling water for human consumption?
Should it be limited to industrial use?
If you believed somebody could process water at less then half the current cost of potable would that make a difference to how you felt about paying double, triple or more for your water?
What are the things we all should be concerned about?
Do you have any experience with endocrine disruptors?
