Havana is surely the most vibrant city in Cuba when it comes to night life. If you are a night lover then you need to spend good few days in this city. I intend with this article to give you information on the best places to go to enjoy a good night out while in your holidays.
If you are looking for a romantic dinner, while being serenaded by a small group of excellent musicians then I will recommend to hang out in any of the outdoors restaurants that can be found in the Old Town. One of my favourite places is El Patio restaurant located in Cathedral Square. This fantastic spot in Havana has the most beautiful buildings from the colonial times. You can try indoors but the real deal is to dine under the stars surrounded by an impressive collection of astonishing building facades. The weather is always nice in Cuba so do not be afraid of being cold or getting wet and let your self be pampered by a warm breeze that blows from the sea.
There are lots of small bars almost in every corner in the Old Town and there is always life music for entertainment. For those looking to enjoy the taste of the Cuban cocktails, the flavours of the Cuban cuisine and the best of the traditional Cuban music then you will not need to leave the Old Town area.
For salsa Music lovers there is a wealth of options. One of my favourite places is Casa de La Musica in Centro Habana area. In this club perform the best salsa bands in Cuba. It gets a lot better towards the weekend but it opens its doors every night and every afternoon for the so called matinees. I particularly recommend these matinees because the tickets are more affordable to locals and then you can really experience fantastic salsa dancing.
El Turquino, located in the 25th floor of Habana Libre Hotel is another venue for a good night out. The views of the city from this spot are simply incredible, for not to mention that they offer the best of the latest in Cuban music. Hotel Nacional De Cuba has the second best cabaret in Cuba called Parisien and on the weekends it has become very usual for Buena Vista Social Club to perform in its gardens.
All these places that I have mentioned are in my opinion the best night clubs but there are many others. The prices for the covers are between 10 to 25 CUC.
Tropiacana is a stunning outdoor Cabaret which offers every night the best show you will be able to see in Cuba. It is a mixed of everything but especially of all the afro Cuban rhythms like Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Bolero, Guaguanco, Rumba, Guaracha, Conga, Son and Damson. A ticket cost from 75 CUC to 100 CUC. It is a bit expensive I know but is worth every penny of the price you pay.
If you want to know more about this night clubs or the options in general for night life in Havana of you need to find out how to make the most out of your holidays in Cuba, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
