DEVPRAYAG - A PLACE POSSESSED BY SAINTS AND YOGIS


Devprayag,a sacred city of Uttranchal,is situated at the confluence of the river Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, these two rivers form Ganga from here.

It is significant place,surrounded by wonderful hills and is hailed for natural forces as well as spiritual forces.Devprayag is a small holy town,known for ancient temples of Lord Rama.It is a great place of pilgrimage for Hindus and for those who like to enjoy travelling in such a wonderful place. This place is famous for mythical and temples,the meeting of rivers itself is a source of wonder and inspiration.

It has cool climate and the best of time of travelling is throughout the year.It is just first hill town one passes through beyond Rishikesh. The first glance is spectacular looking down to the verdant hills and the valleys. This place is not only a pilgrimage site but also a destination to relax,rejuvenate and recharge and cradled by the cool and soothing Himalayas. It is abundant with innumerous tourists and pilgrimage destination.

and unforgettable moments. The wonderful attractions are:-


One can see the Braham kund and the other Vashisth kund.It is believed that several yogis and sages live and meditate here.


RAGHUNATHJI TEMPLE:- The temple is devoted to Lord Rama. It is an ancient temple since immorial time.Other temples can also be seen here i.e. Annapurna devi temple,Hanuman temple and Garudd temple.

DASHRATHSHILA:-It is believed that here Dashrath,father of Lord Rama, performed penance.One see Dashrathachal peak and Shanta water stream.


CHANDRABADANI TEMPLE:-This temple is devoted to the Goddesses of power. It is said that Sati,consort of Shiva dropped her torso here. A majestic view of old statues,iron trishuls,Kedarnath and Badrinath peaks can be seen from here.

One can see here different kind of flora and this beauty captivate the heart of the visitors.The local fauna includes deer,wild fowls,wild boar,langur and many other rare animals are there. So Devprayag is one of the magical and enchanting places to visit.Many people come over here from different part of the world and feel spiritually satisfaction
