Hong Kong Island is an idyllic island in the southern part of Hong Kong. The Central area on the island is the historical, political and economic centre of Hong Kong. The northern coast of the island forms the southern shore of the Victoria Harbour.
The island is home to many of the most famous sights in Hong Kong, such as "The Peak", Ocean Park, many historical sites and various large shopping centres. The mountain ranges across the island are also famous for hiking. The northern part of Hong Kong Island together with Kowloon forms the core urban area of Hong Kong.

On the Island's north, from Central to Causeway Bay are the shopping, entertainment and commercial districts, whereas the Southern District is where you can find nice beaches, cafes and markets.The Peak is the top attraction of Hong Kong, as it offers one of the best night time views in the world! The Peak Tram will take you to The Peak, where you can find the Peak Tower, viewing deck, shopping center, restaurants and exhibition halls.
The admiralty's Pacific Place is one of the top shopping malls on HK Island. Hong Kong Park is a charming park in the middle of the concrete jungle, a peaceful oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It houses the Museum of Tea Ware, Conservatory and Aviary etc.
Causeway Bay is Hong Kong's shopping, gourmet and entertainment center. This area has numerous Hong Kong-style and Japanese-style department stores, such as Times Square and Sogo, Mitsukoshi etc. Of course, remember not to miss the restaurants on the streets!
Southern is the place to go if you are a fun seeker. It has nice beaches such as the Repulse Bay or Deep Water Bay the famous Stanley Market and the Ocean Park theme park.
After all the action, there are plenty of hotels in Hong Kong where a tired traveler can experience the comfiest of stays.
