The Longing for Significant Writing C 2005 Julie Jordan Scott
I said I wanted to do some significant writing.
So what does that mean?
Writing - that feels important, meaningful and most important, writing with movement.
My standard belief is "All writing is significant" and yet even as I spoke the intention I was "getting" the meaning underneath my meaning.
I wanted to write something that moved ME. I wanted to write something that leveraged my gift and elevated my energy, my heart, my soul and in the process aimed towards the heart, the soul and the energy of others.
Yes.
Significant writing. It doesn't mean writing a dissertation or a theoretical debate or a "publishable" piece with the standard main point, supportive points, facts, figures or anything of the sort.
I wanted my words to move, to flow, to enter the breath and bloodstream and expand outwards in into the world in a positive, affirming direction.
I wanted to do some significant writing - just like this.
